Refresher Course For The Prophets

Theme: DISCERNING GOD'S VOICE. (Pt.7)

Topic: GOD SPEAK THROUGH VISION.

Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]–blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. [I Sam. 3:1; Amos 8:11, 12; Proverbs 29:18 AMP.]

Introduction: Vision and revelation are used interchangeably. They both fall in the category of revelational gifts which are: Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge and Discerning of the spirits.

The greek word for revelation is "Apocalypse" which mean: the unveiling of God's plans as it related to you. This divine means of communication is like watching television, seeing something audiovisual or graphically.  The contemporary definition of vision goes thus: it's the insight based on foresight for the benefits of hindsight. It's to do with your inner eye seeing what will happen tomorrow. That's why it's called prophetic revelation.

Body: When a prophet is a seer or visional he's or she is called ro'eh. For the purpose of clarity i repeat again: "all seers were prophets but all prophets were not seers.

There are two types of vision:

i. Open Vision: This is a revelation received while you're still in your body. In other word you're still very conscious of what you're doing.

Jesus replied, Because I said to you, I saw you beneath the fig tree, do you believe in and rely on and trust in Me? You shall see greater things than this! Then He said to him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you all, you shall see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man! John 1:50-51 AMP. [Gen. 28:12; Dan. 7:13.] One of the benefits of open vision is that it's done during the day when you're very conscious of your environment not like dream that you need to be asleep before you can receive information from God.

ii. Trance. Trance mean to be out of your body. In this divine means of communication you're unconscious. You're Alive but your spirit is out of your body on a spiritual journey with God.

Apostle Peter had this experience. Acts.10:10.

Apostle Paul. Acts.22:17. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago–whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows–was caught up to the third heaven. And I know that this man–whether in the body or away from the body I do not know, God knows– Was caught up into paradise, and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words, which man is not permitted to utter. 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 AMP.

Conclusively: When we sanctified ourselves unto God the sky isn't the limit but the beginning. God want to speak with you openly and not in the dark but you need to be close with Him.
